Yoursafe provides three tailored COA Sponsored account types for residents living under the care of Centraal Orgaan opvang Asielzoekers (COA). Each account is designed to balance financial inclusion with strong compliance controls.

1. COA Card Only Account

Best for: Residents without a smartphone.

Features:

• Comes with a physical debit card (Visa)
• Allows cash withdrawals up to €500 per week
• Designed for card-based use only

Limitations:

• No incoming funds except from COA
• No electronic transfers (SEPA or otherwise)
• No Yoursafe App access
• Cannot be upgraded unless full verification is completed

2. COA Limited Account

Best for: COA residents with a smartphone, who do not yet have an ID.

Features:

• Can receive deposits from COA or designated organizations
• Provides basic payment functions, such as card use and limited transfers
• Upgradable to a Basic Account once valid ID (passport, W-document, etc.) is provided

Limitations:

• Restricted to COA-approved funding sources
• Spending and transfer limits apply due to high-risk classification
• Certain merchant categories (gambling, restricted countries, etc.) are blocked

3. COA Basic Account

Best for: Residents

Features:

• Offers broader payment functionality compared to Limited Accounts
• Allows incoming and outgoing transactions beyond COA allowances
• Can be used with the Yoursafe App for balance checks, transfers, and management
• COA covers account fees while the resident remains under COA care

Limitations:

• Once a resident leaves COA housing, all fees become the customer’s responsibility
• Transactions remain subject to AML/CTF monitoring and limitations on high-risk activity
