For your Sponsored account your PIN code is a secret number that protects your Yoursafe Card. You need it every time you use your card in a store or at an ATM.
If you forget your PIN, don’t worry — your money is safe, and you can receive a new PIN securely.
Step 1: Try to remember safely
Before requesting a new PIN, take a moment to think:
- Did you write it down somewhere safe?
- Is it stored in a secure place you can check?
If you can’t find it, do not keep guessing — if you enter the wrong PIN too many times, your card may become temporarily blocked.
Step 2: Request a new PIN
With your Sponsor account, you are not allowed to change or reset your PIN yourself.
For safety reasons, your Sponsor and social service office cannot see or change your PIN either.
If you forget your PIN:
- Contact your Sponsor office (for example, your local Landkreis or social service center).
- The Sponsor will contact Yoursafe securely to request a new PIN for you.
- You will then receive a new PIN mailer in a separate envelope by post.
Your money will stay safe in your account the whole time.
Important tips
- Never share your PIN with anyone — not even with Yoursafe or your Sponsor.
- Don’t choose an easy number (like 0000 or 1234).
- Keep your new PIN in a safe place, away from your card.
In short
If you forget your PIN:
- Don’t keep guessing — your card may get blocked.
- Contact your Sponsor to request a new PIN.
- Your new PIN will be sent to you in a separate envelope.
You cannot change your PIN yourself, and your Sponsor cannot do it for you.
This keeps your account and money fully protected.
